DESHOULIÈRES

Deshoulières was created in 1826 by Jean Bozier in the Center of France as an ordinary pottery but quickly transformed into an earthenware factory.

A turning point was reached before the Second World War by modernizing the manufacturing processes and producing culinary items made out of fine stoneware, a product between earthenware and porcelain. The company also bought the famous hotel ware brand Apilco, which allowed to develop the business abroad.

After the war and many difficulties the production started again. Progressively the staff became more skilled and more numerous, growing from 40 employees in 1905 to 500 in 1970. Automatic production became a specialty and Deshoulieres became the highest capacity French manufacturer of porcelain plates (1.2 million pieces a month).

In 1980 Deshoulières purchased the “Porcelaine de Sologne” brand, well known in the wedding registry and giftware business. With the help of the Nikoil Group, the company established in the 80's a real modern style while developing the creative and technological innovation related to the brand. All the products are made of real strong porcelain. Its top-quality and non-porous nature make it resistant to heat and extremely durable. It is therefore oven, microwave and dishwasher safe except for the products containing gold or platinum.

In 2004 Deshoulières launched new collections inspired by the fashion books elaborated by the most famous Parisian style agencies, while maintaining the family's legacy of excellence.

Deshoulieres is now the Number One French porcelain manufacturer with its 3 brands: Deshoulières, Porcelaine de Sologne and Apilco.
