Come with us to Paris for a truly unique lifetime experience! Péché Mignon Gourmet Food and Shopping Tour offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the City of Lights. It is a unique opportunity for you to take advantage of an insider's knowledge of Paris, like only a true native knows!
Enjoy the beauties of Paris as you indulge into the Parisian Lifestyle, focusing on two of its most famous aspects: shopping and enjoying culinary experiences!
Day 1: Arrival and Getting settled
Arrival of guests. Transfer to the hotel in the heart of Paris and getting settled. We'll have a mellow day to try to fight the jet lag. In the afternoon we'll take a short métro ride to see a 50 minutes movie presented on a 12 meter wide plasma screen. Paris Story tells about 2,000 years of Paris history and monuments, and is a great introduction to our Tour! After the movie, we'll walk from the Opéra House to the Louvre, to get a glimpse at the Pyramid. It will probably be a short day for most of us, so your evening is free to take advantage of a restful night of sleep.
Day 2: Jacquemart André Museum, Champs Elysées, Eiffel Tower and chocolate workshop
After breakfast we'll enjoy an English guided tour of Jacquemart André Museum, a splendid 19th century private mansion housing a rare, dazzling art collection. We will have lunch in the former dining room transformed into a splendid salon de thé. After lunch, we'll walk to the Arc of Triumph and down the Champs-Elysées. We'll then enjoy a chocolate tasting at La Maison du Chocolat - one of Paris' premier chocolate makers - and will learn how to make a chocolate ganache before admiring the Eiffel Tower and its illumination at night. Your evening is free to do as you please.
Day 3: Marché d'Aligre, Notre-Dame & Ile Saint-Louis, Le Marais
After breakfast, we'll visit the produce market Place d'Aligre in the 12th arrondissement, a popular and very busy market on week ends. We'll end our visit by a glass of wine at a Parisian institution, Le Baron Rouge, before having a light lunch on the Ile Saint-Louis, behind Notre-Dame. We'll look at the gourmet and whimsical stores on the island and will taste a delicious ice-cream from the best French ice-cream maker, Berthillon. We'll walk to Le Marais and will loose ourselves - sort of - in the small streets of this fabulous neighborhood. We'll cruise rue des Francs-Bourgeois down to the 17th century Place des Vosges where French writer Victor Hugo lived for 16 years. We'll end the day around an Alsatian dinner on the Champs-Elysées, which will allow us to admire the avenue at night.
Day 4: Le Cordon Bleu cooking class, Hotel de Ville, Shopping in the 6th arrondissement
After breakfast, we'll head up to Le Cordon Bleu in the 15th arrondissement for a hands-on cooking class and we will eat what we prepared! In the afternoon we'll visit the beautiful Hotel de Ville (unless the Maire requires its salons without notice). We'll head then to the 6th arrondissement to visit Poilâne's bakery and its basement to see the oven where the world-famous delicious breads are made. From there we'll walk to La Grande Epicerie, a fabulous high-end grocery store inside Le Bon Marché, Paris' oldest department store, a true food museum! We'll visit then a few stores including a clothing store specializing in discounts. We'll walk back to our hotel at the end of the day through St Germain-des-Prés and will make a last stop at one of my favorite bakeries, Gérard Mulot. Your evening is free to relax after all these gastronomic emotions. Not only your stomach but also your feet will probably ask for mercy…
Day 5: Chic outlet shopping village outside of Paris
After breakfast, we'll go just outside of Paris to La Vallée Village, a charming shopping outlet where you will find previous seasons' collections from 90 French and International high-end fashion and lifestyle brands such as Anne Fontaine, Kenzo and Max Mara - all at 30 to 50% off! After we return in the afternoon we'll have a relaxing time at the salon de thé Angelina, renowned for its hot chocolate and Mont-Blanc, a specialty made of meringue, crème fraîche and chestnut cream, a true guilty pleasure and one of my favorites… I don't think you'll be hungry after this visit, so the evening is free to do as you wish.
Day 6: Day off and wine, cheese and foie gras tasting
Enjoy a day off to visit a museum, a monument or simply relax in a nearby café. We'll meet at 6:00 pm for wine, cheese and foie gras tasting with Maitre sommelier Jean-Michel Deluc, former sommelier of the Ritz hotel, Director of the Wine Academy and teacher at Le Cordon Bleu School. The evening is free, just in case you need more food and wine.
Day 7: Marché Mouffetard, St-Germain des Prés and tea tasting
After breakfast we'll head to the produce market rue Mouffetard. We'll then have lunch near Notre-Dame at renowned restaurant Les Bouquinistes owned by famous Chef Guy Savoy. After lunch we'll visit the workshop of a Parisian jewel designer who works for the fashion industry. We'll head then to l'Ecole du Thé, the tea school, in the 11th arrondissement for a fun tea discovery and tasting from Le Palais des Thés. We'll end the day near the Bastille for an optional delicious Basque dinner.
Day 8: 11th arrondissement, Marché des Enfants Rouges, Les Halles
After breakfast, we'll go shoe shopping in the 11th arrondissement! We'll visit the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the oldest covered market in Paris and will have lunch in the market at one of the numerous food stands. In the afternoon, we'll step in the Centre Georges Pompidou, Beaubourg, to enjoy another beautiful view of Paris. In our way to the Forum des Halles we'll stop in a few shops including the renowned kitchen supply store frequented by the world's top chefs Dehillerin. Your evening is free.
Day 9: Antiques Market, Montmartre, Pigalle
After breakfast, we'll visit the world's leading antiques market close to Montmartre. We'll visit the famous neighborhood in the afternoon to admire a stunning view of Paris from the Sacré-Cœur. On our way we'll shop for fabrics at Marché St Pierre. Then we'll walk down the typical streets of Montmartre going through rue Lepic and the café where the movie Amélie was made. We'll have a glimpse at Pigalle by night before sharing a South-Western dinner and say goodbye.
Day 10: Depature
After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Time to go on a diet!
